MaxStat Session Viewer Description
(continued)

MaxStat Session Viewer 2.x was written with the remote access Systems Administrator in mind. It is essential for a NAS administrator to know how their network access resources are being used. Before MaxStat, a systems administrator had to rely on cumbersome telnet session windows, write a custom program for internal administration, or lay out hundreds of dollars for a full-fledged SNMP manager. Often, these tools can be time consuming or difficult to setup up and use. MaxStat makes systems management simpler, easier, and more affordable.

An administrator that has never seen MaxStat can have it installed, configured, and scanning three NAS units in less than 10 minutes. With ease of use in mind, the MaxStat 2.x series provides a number of new features to make systems management free of hassle. For instance, the new automated logging and tracking features lets you get the user statistics you want anywhere you want. Simply enable the Export to HTML option, set a refresh time interval, and point MaxStat to a Web Server. Now all of the user data will be exported to the web page that you specified, and it can be viewed anywhere.

Interested in knowing how many users are on your system at any given time? Perhaps you want to graph overall system usage to better plan for upgrades and network expansion? Enable the export to log file option and MaxStat will create a summary of overall system use as it gathers data. Import this into Microsoft Excel TM and get a real time graph of your network use at any given point in time.

MaxStat also provides a number of security features to help you keep your network information private. Enable MaxStat security to hide SNMP communities from prying eyes, lock out the options dialog, disable hang-up, and more. You can now deploy MaxStat to a technical support group and not have to worry about compromised access to your systems.

The MaxStat user interface is extremely customizable. Any column of data can be displayed or disabled. Using the MultiMax option, you can also define groups of NAS systems to work with. For instance, an administrator could define two groups of systems, one called Los Angeles and one called New York. Each group would then be defined with a number of NAS units underneath their heading. You can now open two MaxStat session windows side by side and monitor each group of units in real time.

With MaxStat 2.x, you get all of the basic Windows capabilities. You can open, save, or print any session as it is shown on the screen. You can copy and paste from any window in MaxStat with the standard Window’s TM keystrokes.

MaxStat provides all of the features you need to get your network organized, gather network statistics, and to make your job easier.
